  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University and the Williams Library will host a free coding and STEM camp from May 20-24, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., for area sixth- to eighth-graders. The purpose of the club is to provide a fun environment where students interested in coding and STEM-related activities can come and learn a new skill or build on skills they already have.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D.— Northern State University is delighted to announce the expansion of South Dakota's successful Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Pathway, made possible by additional funding from the state legislature. This growth will allow more aspiring educators to pursue their dreams of teaching.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University invites the public to a groundbreaking ceremony for its leading-edge Business and Health Innovation Center. The event will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 3 p.m. Central Time on the east side of Lincoln Hall, located at 1200 S. Jay St., Aberdeen, S.D.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The annual Northern State University Jazz Swing Dance will be held from 7-11 p.m. on Friday, April 26. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and there will be a free dance lesson given by John Kersten from 6-6:45 p.m.

    The public is invited to the event, which will take place at the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center (second-floor Library Auditorium), located at 225 3rd Ave. SE. The space for this event has been recently renovated with a new hardwood floor.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will hold a plant sale 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, April 18.

    The sale, which is open to the public, will take place in Mewaldt-Jensen Room 144B (the classroom attached to the MJ greenhouse).

    Plants available at the sale will include succulents, geraniums, bulbs and more. Cash or check only will be accepted.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern Fort Playhouse will showcase their talents at historic Fort Sisseton for an exciting 18th season.

    Northern Fort Playhouse will kick off their performances on July 12 with "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and "The Feral Child." Both shows will be performed on July 12-14, 19-21, and 26-27.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Beulah Williams Library at Northern State University will be hosting a pair of evening events in April. 

    The first event is a presentation and exhibition by George Prisbe, who painted the popular Dunnland series. He is a former NSU faculty member, and his South Dakota-themed paintings can be found in museums, libraries, and private collections throughout the state.
