    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University students Justin Desens and Tanner Pietz will hold their senior recital at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in Krikac Auditorium.

    Desens, who plays the tuba, will perform “Oboe Concerto in D minor, Op. 9 No. 2,” by Tomaso Albinoni; “Ordner Seg,” by ?ystein Baadsvik; and “Sonata for Tuba and Piano,” by Paul Hindemith. He will be accompanied by Sue Gates and Dr. Kenneth Boulton.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will host the 68th Annual Mathematics Contest on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Barnett Center on the NSU campus.

    High school students from around the area are invited to participate in one of four divisions: Elementary Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Senior Math.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – A husband and wife musical duo will perform an upcoming concert at Northern State University.

    Kenneth Boulton and JoAnne Barry will present a recital of music for piano four-hands at 
    7:30 p.m. Monday, March 27, in the Krikac Auditorium.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dr. Peter Ramey has published a book, “The Word-Hoard Beowulf: A Translation with Commentary.”

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Thursday, March 30, 2023, will be the 40th year of the Northern South Dakota Science and Mathematics Fair, sponsored by Northern State University, 3M of Aberdeen and the Aberdeen Area Community Foundation.  

    The day starts out with approximately 50-60 judges from Aberdeen and surrounding areas judging projects and interviewing students.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Aberdeen University-Civic Symphony’s re-scheduled concert on Tuesday, March 21 featuring The Texas Tenors has been canceled.

    The Texas Tenors notified organizers that they would not be traveling to the event, citing weather concerns; thus, the decision was made to cancel the entire concert.  The concert will not be rescheduled.

    Refunds are available for anyone who has purchased tickets for this concert. To request a refund, please contact the Northern State University School of Fine Arts Office at 605-626-2497.
