There is a significant demand in the United States and abroad for teachers of English as a new/second language. The Undergraduate and Graduate TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificates each provide the qualifications and preparation necessary to teach in this capacity in a variety of settings locally, nationally, and internationally.

Students with this certification are qualified to teach English as a new/second language at public schools abroad, at adult literacy centers, at missionary sites, and at other organizations designed to promote literacy for immigrants, foreign nationals, and refugees.

Both certificates are offered on campus and online. Those pursuing the Graduate TESOL Certificate must currently hold a bachelor¡¯s degree in any major.
