The bachelor of science degree in biology is perfect for students interested in a natural science education that will prepare them for careers in medicine and other health-related fields; biological/chemical research, biotechnology and teaching; and various other areas.

Students in the biology program will begin by understanding and using the scientific method to engage in critical thinking and experimental design. Combined with strong, multi-disciplined foundational backgrounds including chemistry, physics, and mathematics, students will be encouraged to perform original field and/or laboratory research throughout their academic careers.

Opportunities are available to build strong hands-on, real-world experiences through local, regional, and national external internships and job shadowing. This program prepares students for further training in natural science, such as graduate school, as well as medical, veterinary, dental or other healthcare professions.
