Elementary, Secondary and Special Education
The NSU School of Education actively promotes and encourages opportunities for students to get multiple experiences in K-12 school settings. The Office of Field Services coordinates all practicums and student teaching experiences.
Real-world student teaching practicums and experiences are integrated throughout each teacher preparation program, beginning in the freshman year. In our program, you'll be placed in preschools and K-12 districts to gain valuable educational experience from highly qualified classroom teachers.
Field experience requirements, placement options, and length vary by program, so it's important to consult with your advisor or the Field Services Office to guide your decisions.
Health and Physical Education Department
All students gain essential career-related experience in two required internships: a practicum, PE 395 (3 credits) and field experience, PE 496 (6 credits). You'll work with your professors to design experiences that fit with your career goals.
